Completion times by playstyle
| Playstyle | Estimate | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Official estimate | 8–12 hours | Saber FAQ |
| Main story | 8–10 hours | Game Rant |
| Rushed replay (routes and puzzles known) | 5–6 hours | Game Rant |
| Platinum / 1,000 Gamerscore | 8–10 hours following a walkthrough | PowerPyx |
| Normal difficulty, exploring | About 15 hours; just under 20 with every upgrade, weapon and safe | TheGamer |
| 100% completion | 15–18 hours | Game Rant |
Why the numbers differ
A walkthrough-led platinum run skips the time you would spend searching, so it can be shorter than a blind first playthrough. Exploration, puzzle time and boss retries add hours, and higher difficulties make resources scarcer and fights longer. Player-submitted averages are still thin in launch week, so treat every figure here as an early estimate.
How many chapters are there?
The game does not number chapters on screen. Game Rant groups the objectives into a prologue, six chapters and an epilogue. The walkthrough route lists them.
Is there a reason to play twice?
Not for trophies: both endings can be seen by reloading the final autosave, and there is no New Game+. Saber says it has no plans for DLC or content updates beyond fixes, so the campaign is the full package.
